Team of Oxen is pastors, elders, lay leaders, and gifted writers within Denton and Christ Community Church that have a heart to educate and equip God’s people and a passion for writing and teaching.
Chris is originally from Dallas and moved to Denton in the summer of 2012 to help with planting C3, where he serves as Pastor of Cultural Engagement and leads the formal theological education of the church. Chris graduated with a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary. He enjoys playing guitar, recording and producing music at his studio, and reading articles about 20th century French literary criticism. He is married and has two children.
Jarod is a native of southwest Oklahoma and relatively recent Denton, TX transplant. Jarod is the Church Planting Resident at C3 as well as a music teacher at Denton Calvary Academy. He earned his MA in Biblical Theology from Redeemer Theological Seminary and enjoys writing, performing music, and reading theology & Southern Gothic literature. He is married to his beautiful wife, Morgan.
Mark and his wife Amanda have been in ministry for many years. Having served as a pastor for 5 years at the Denton Freedom House, Mark has lots of experience in Biblical counseling, addiction support, and shepherding God’s people. At C3, Mark plays a crucial role in counseling and serves as a pastoral intern. Mark and Amanda have a 16 month -old daughter named Clara Rose.
Ross serves as Christ Community Church’s Lead Pastor and founder of Team of Oxen. Ross graduated with his master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. A native of Denton, he began leading what would become C3 in 2009 in the living room of his house. He is passionate about communicating the heart of God to the heart of people, as well as reading theology and science fiction. He is married to Heather, and has four amazing children.
Benjamin Elio is a follower of Christ, and member of Christ Community Church in Denton. He is married to his wife, Lara and they have one son named Andrew. He teaches Animation, Photography, Design, and Film to high school students. His other passions include adoption and serving in his local church.
